The Grange University Hospital (SCCC)
Following the Welsh government’s investment of £350 million, Laing O’Rourke was tasked with delivering a much-needed replacement for the Royal Gwent Hospital in Cwmbran, which will serve over 600,000 people in Southeast Wales.
With 560 beds and over 55000 m2 of space the new build is designed to provide critical care treatment with its’ 24-hour Acute Assessment Unit and Emergency Department.
As a vital element of the works, and due to our expertise in the healthcare industry, Willis Systems was appointed by the main contractor to provide a complete package of healthcare IPS. This includes all sanitaryware to the wards, departments, bedrooms, staff dirty and clean utility rooms, and all patient and visitor toilet areas.
Having previously worked with both Laing O’Rourke and The Trust on a variety of hospital projects, both were confident in the quality of our products and service delivered by Willis Systems. Peter Borley, MD of Willis Systems, stated that despite this being a huge project and biggest construction site in Wales in 2019 we relished the challenge and put all energies in making this work both in manufacture and the substantial site team required in delivering our works on time.
